I spent a day this week exploring a little of my new city with one of my favorite people.

We took the train to Brooklyn and then walked back across the Brooklyn bridge into Manhattan. We really couldn't have chosen a more beautiful day, holy cow.

And then, we had one of the most delicious meals at Somtum Der in the East Village. I'll definitely be back to eat there whenever i'm in the neighborhood. 10/10 would recommend.

more soon. XO,

Ok wow, SO.... since I last checked in I have found an apartment, applied for said apartment (and got approved), signed the lease, AND MOVED IN!

My two roommates and I found a wonderful apartment in Washington Heights near a large park and within a short walk to multiple grocery stores and train stops. The building is quite nice and quiet and because we live on the top floor we have plenty of light throughout the day! We even made a trip to Lowe's together the other day and came back with a few lovely houseplants that I hope we can manage to keep alive and thriving (fingers crossed as i've never had plants before).

I cannot wait to share some apartment pictures with you but since I'm still waiting on some furniture and things, that will have to wait. For now here are a few photos of the view from our fire escape.

As you read this I will likely be en route to the eastern side of North Carolina!

I am heading to hang with one of my best friends and soon-to-be my newest room mate in NYC. We're going to spend some time with his family and at the beach before driving up to the city.

Apartment search -

Yeah... I don't yet have an apartment. My two future roomies and I have applied to an apartment that we are really excited about but the application process has been long and ongoing. When people say that the rental application process in NYC is extensive, they really aren't kidding.

With that being said, I obviously don't exactly know where I'll be living but I am not yet concerned. This is a big leap for me but one that I am doing completely for myself. Yes, I am apprehensive and nervous but I am also really excited about this big adventure!

Wish me luck!
